The Selim Eskelin Foundation was established in accordance with the last will and testament of Selim Konstantin Eskelin (1867 – 1938). Eskelin was a cantor and director musices from the Finnish city of Kotka. The Foundation provides financial support for students of the Sibelius Academy.
To this end, the Foundation grants scholarships and rents apartments to students.
Each year the board of the Foundation approves the budget for scholarships awarded. The annual deadline for applications is middle of October (see the application instructions for more details).
The Foundation owns seven apartments, comprising a total of fourteen rented rooms, in the central Helsinki district of Töölö and Meilahti.
The Selim Eskelin Foundation belongs as member to Säätiot ja Rahastot ry (Finnish Foundations and Funds society).
